Welcome to Figuya
"Irasshaimase" is probably familiar to anyone who has been to Japan, watches anime in Japanese, or is learning the language. It means "Come on in" or "Welcome" and is used as a greeting in shops throughout Japan.
Where does the name Figuya come from?
Jessica came up with the idea for the name "Figuya" many years ago when she started collecting anime figures herself. The inspiration came from the Japanese word for "figure", which the Japanese adopted from English.
It is written in Katakana as フィギュア and pronounced "Figyua". The "Ya" at the end means "shop", and so Jessica created the name Figuya - essentially "the shop for figures"!
While we started with figures, we now offer a wide range of merchandise from Japanese and Western licenses.
